Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently announced on X that the $99 monthly fee for the Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) package will increase as the feature set is upgraded. He emphasized that the future unsupervised version of FSD will allow users to use their phones or even sleep throughout the entire drive, delivering a "quantum leap in value." Additionally, Tesla will discontinue the one-time purchase option for FSD after February 14, fully transitioning to a monthly subscription model. Currently, FSD costs $8,000 as a one-time purchase in the U.S., with a monthly subscription priced at $99; in China, it is priced at RMB 64,000, and the subscription option is not yet available. According to IT Home, the free FSD transfer service between vehicles will end on March 31, 2026, and owners must complete any transfers before this date.
