FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota have announced a recall of certain vehicle models due to a safety risk caused by improper settings in the multimedia display system control software. The issue may cause the screen to remain black upon vehicle startup without recovery, thereby affecting operation of the defrosting and defogging functions. Specifically, FAW Toyota’s Changchun Fengyue branch will recall 10,922 RAV4荣放 (RAV4) vehicles produced between December 5, 2025, and January 13, 2026, starting from January 23, 2026. GAC Toyota will simultaneously recall 5,056 Wildlander (威兰达) vehicles manufactured between December 11, 2025, and January 12, 2026. Both companies will provide free software updates to the multimedia systems of the affected vehicles to eliminate this safety hazard.
