Chery Automobile recently announced a recall of 1,108 units of certain Jaecoo 06 and all-new Tiggo 7 1.6T models. The recall is due to the engine ECU branch wiring harness clip not being properly secured as per specifications. Prolonged use may cause wear on the wiring harness, potentially leading to engine stalling in extreme cases and posing a safety hazard. Chery will provide free inspections for affected vehicles and, if necessary, carry out repairs or replace components at no cost. The affected Jaecoo 06 models include both the gasoline version (1.6T + 7DCT) and the C-DM plug-in hybrid variant (1.5T + dual motors). The Tiggo 7 1.6T is equipped with the same 1.6TGDI engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.6 L/100 km.
