BMW M recently announced that its upcoming all-electric M3 will feature a new "soundscapes" system designed to recreate the brand’s iconic engine sounds, including those of legendary powertrains such as the F82 M4 GTS’s 3.0L inline-six, the E92 M3 GTS’s 4.4L V8, and the E64 M6’s 5.0L V10. These authentic, recorded engine notes will be blended with the whine of electric motors to deliver a unique auditory experience. The new vehicle will utilize a four-motor all-wheel-drive system, with a combined output expected to exceed 1,000 horsepower and peak torque reaching 1,400 Nm. It will also feature a virtual gear-shifting function and a rear-wheel-drive-only mode, preserving the driving dynamics and drift capabilities synonymous with M models.
