Tesla USA has announced a full transition to a subscription model for Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability, effective February 14, with a standard monthly fee of $99. A limited-time option to purchase FSD outright will be available until March 31. Owners who previously paid $6,000 for Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) are eligible for exclusive offers: they can subscribe to FSD for $49 per month or purchase it outright for just $2,000 if they do so by March 31. Meanwhile, Tesla USA has quietly removed the standard Autopilot feature—basic lane-centering—from its Model S, 3, X, Y, and Cybertruck vehicles, retaining only Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC) to encourage users to subscribe to or purchase FSD. In contrast, Tesla China still includes basic Autopilot as standard equipment. Customers in China can purchase EAP for an additional RMB 32,000 or FSD for RMB 64,000.
