Over 41 Million Vehicle Transfers Nationwide in 2025 as Used Car Sales Outpace New Cars for Sixth Straight Year

In 2025, traffic management departments of public security organs nationwide handled a total of 41.11 million motor vehicle transfer registration transactions, of which 38.41 million were for automobiles, accounting for 93.44%. Data shows that since 2020, the number of second-hand vehicle transaction registrations has exceeded new vehicle registrations for six consecutive years, reflecting sustained vitality in the used car market. To promote market circulation, the Ministry of Public Security, together with the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant departments, has introduced reform measures such as facilitating inter-regional transaction registrations, further optimizing the environment for used car trading.
