Gavin Pancirov, owner of a Las Vegas-based exotic car dealership, recently revealed on TikTok that he sold a mechanically sound Subaru WRX STI through the online auction platform Copart—simply because its exterior condition was too poor. The car features brand-new tires and brakes, has a clean title, and no accident history, but suffers from subpar paintwork. Pancirov stated that the cost of cosmetic restoration would be too high to justify retail resale. He emphasized that the vehicle is “100% driveable,” noting that although the ABS warning light is on, it doesn’t affect drivability. Copart primarily caters to professional buyers, parts dealers, or DIY enthusiasts capable of performing repairs, making it potentially risky for average consumers. The car is now listed on Copart and is expected to go up for auction soon.
