On January 27, He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPeng Motors, shared a video of himself attending the company’s annual meeting in XPeng AeroHT’s “Land Aircraft Carrier” flying car, drawing widespread attention. Developed by XPeng AeroHT, the vehicle features a detachable design: the ground module can seat 4–5 passengers, while the flight module is equipped with a 270° panoramic two-seat cabin, supports vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and low-altitude flight, and uses a range-extended hybrid power system enabling multiple recharging cycles. The “Land Aircraft Carrier” is scheduled to open for pre-orders in Q4 2024 and begin official deliveries in the second half of 2026, with an expected price tag under RMB 2 million. To date, the model has already received approximately 7,000 refundable deposit orders. Trial production has commenced at its Huangpu plant in Guangzhou, which is designed for an annual capacity of 10,000 units. Additionally, XPeng AeroHT successfully conducted a public manned flight demonstration in Dubai last October and secured an order for 600 units from the Middle East, with plans to launch sales there in 2027. There are also unconfirmed reports that the company is considering a Hong Kong IPO, though XPeng has not officially confirmed this.
