Chery's new all-electric pickup, the WELLY R08 EV, has officially launched with six variants priced from RMB 127,800 to RMB 158,800. As Chery’s first fully electric pickup truck, the R08 EV features a body-on-frame construction and is available in both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. Exterior highlights include a large honeycomb-patterned grille and the prominent “WELLY” badge, ensuring high visual recognition. The vehicle is offered in two bed lengths: standard (5,330 mm overall length) and long (5,610 mm), with cargo bed depths of 1,530 mm and 1,810 mm respectively. Inside, the cabin adopts a passenger-car-oriented design, featuring either a 15.6-inch or 12.3-inch central touchscreen, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a dual-tone interior color scheme combining light brown and black. Higher trims come equipped with advanced driver-assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking. Powertrain specifications include a single-motor version delivering 150 kW of peak power and accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, while the dual-motor variant offers a combined output of 300 kW and achieves the same sprint in just 5.0 seconds. The R08 EV is available with two battery options—66.54 kWh and 88 kWh—providing CLTC-rated ranges of 405 km, 510 km, and 505 km depending on the configuration.
