According to the latest report from Brand Finance, Tesla’s brand value has declined by 36% in 2025, dropping to $27.61 billion—marking its third consecutive year of decline and a sharp retreat from its peak of $66.2 billion in 2023. Analysts attribute this downturn to a lack of new vehicle models, relatively high pricing, and CEO Elon Musk’s excessive involvement in geopolitical issues, all of which have diluted the brand’s focus and appeal. Meanwhile, BYD’s brand value rose by 23% to $17.29 billion, positioning it as a rising star in the automotive industry. In the 2026 Global Automotive Brand Value Ranking, Toyota leads with $62.7 billion, while Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Porsche, and two other automakers all rank ahead of Tesla.
