On January 28, SAIC’s IM Motors officially unveiled its flagship SUV, the LS9 Hyper. The new model highlights three industry-first achievements: it is the first mass-produced SUV equipped with "full four-wheel steer-by-wire" technology, the first full steer-by-wire vehicle to pass the China Automotive Technology & Research Center's (CATARC) "Reliability Challenge," and the first vehicle to feature SAIC’s mass-produced "triple-motor vector all-wheel-drive" system. The company describes it as “the best-driving flagship in the 9-series.” IM Motors has not yet disclosed specific configurations or pricing for the LS9 Hyper. Previously, the six-seat IM LS9 SUV was launched in November 2023, offered in two variants—52 Ultra and 66 Ultra—with benefit-inclusive prices of RMB 322,800 and RMB 352,800, respectively.
