XPeng will officially launch its new all-electric sedan, the P7+, in Europe in April, directly competing with the Volkswagen ID.7. The vehicle is already being locally produced at Magna Steyr’s plant in Austria and made its debut at the Brussels Motor Show in early January. The P7+ emphasizes sleek aerodynamic styling and ultra-fast charging capabilities. The base model starts at €43,600 (approximately RMB 363,000), significantly undercutting the ID.7’s starting price of €54,105. However, the entry-level P7+ comes with a 62 kWh battery offering a WLTP range of 455 km, lower than the ID.7’s 77 kWh battery and 619 km range. The long-range version of the P7+ is priced at €49,600, featuring a 75 kWh battery and a WLTP range of 530 km. The standout feature is its charging speed: the base P7+ supports 350 kW fast charging, while the higher-spec variant peaks at an industry-leading 446 kW—far surpassing the ID.7’s maximum of 200 kW. XPeng highlights that its lightweight battery design enhances both handling and energy efficiency, targeting European customers who prioritize driving dynamics. Although XPeng and Volkswagen are collaborating on new vehicle development in China, they have become direct competitors in the European market.
