As of the end of 2025, a total of 71,500 electric vehicle charging ports have been installed at highway service areas nationwide, with 20,000 newly added in 2025 alone, significantly enhancing charging service capacity. Gao Bo, an official from the Ministry of Transport’s Department of Transport Services, revealed at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that during the 2025 Spring Festival holiday—running from 00:00 on February 15 to 24:00 on February 23, totaling nine days—toll fees will be waived nationwide for small passenger vehicles with seven seats or fewer. Additionally, the Ministry of Transport will provide real-time updates on weather alerts, road conditions, and charging station availability through navigation apps and new media platforms, and will also launch interactive live broadcasts to offer travelers more convenient services.
