Li Auto Restructures R&D; Avita Appoints New VP

Li Auto recently confirmed it has initiated a new round of organizational restructuring, reorganizing its R&D system into three major teams: Foundation Models, Software Entity, and Hardware Entity. Lang Xianpeng, formerly Senior Vice President of Autonomous Driving, has been reassigned as head of the Hardware Entity team, focusing on robotics development. The autonomous driving business has been integrated into the Software Entity team led by Gou Xiaofei, which will now oversee both intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving systems. The Foundation Models team, led by Zhan Kun, will focus on integrating Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models with in-house developed chips. On the same day, Avatr announced the appointment of Sun Baigong as Vice President, responsible for marketing promotion and marketing system development. Sun previously held executive roles at Huawei and Li Auto, and his new appointment is expected to further strengthen Avatr’s market strategy.
