Samsung SDI recently announced that its U.S. subsidiary has secured a significant battery supply contract. Although specific details were not disclosed, market observers widely speculate the order comes from Tesla’s Energy Storage Systems (ESS) business. The company stated that, for confidentiality reasons, it would not reveal the transaction value, customer information, or contract duration, and explicitly confirmed it will not provide further disclosures on this matter before January 2030. This move is seen as a strong signal of Samsung SDI’s deepening collaboration with Tesla and underscores its strategic positioning in the global energy storage market.
