Chang Rui Appointed General Manager of BAIC Group to Accelerate New Energy and Self-Branded Strategies

On January 30, BAIC Group held a leadership meeting to announce a decision by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC and the Beijing Municipal Government: Chang Rui has been appointed Deputy Party Secretary, Director, and General Manager of BAIC Group. Previously, Chang served as a Standing Committee Member of the BAIC Group Party Committee and Vice General Manager, concurrently holding the positions of Party Secretary and Chairman of BAIC Foton. With extensive experience in management and operations, he has long been deeply involved in the BAIC system. This appointment comes at a critical juncture as BAIC accelerates its transformation, vigorously advancing the development of its own brands, implementing its new energy strategy, and expanding into international and intelligent mobility businesses. Industry analysts note that amid intensifying market competition and industrial transformation, BAIC urgently needs breakthroughs in profitability of its self-owned brands, competitiveness of new energy products, and stable growth of its joint venture operations. In his new role, Chang Rui will assume full responsibility for the group’s day-to-day operations and strategic execution, working closely with the Chairman and Party Secretary to drive the company’s overall development.
