At its Q4 2025 earnings call, Tesla unveiled its Robotaxi strategy, centering on the two-seater autonomous vehicle Cybercab, designed specifically for solo or two-passenger trips—which account for over 90% of all rides. Production is expected to begin in April this year, with future output projected to exceed the combined volume of all other Tesla models. For trips involving three to four passengers, the current Model Y will be used; premium or family customers may opt for an extended-wheelbase Model Y L (pending Elon Musk’s approval). Groups of ten or more will be served by the previously announced Robovan. Tesla emphasized that all vehicles will operate on a unified autonomous driving platform, forming a comprehensive Robotaxi service network covering every mobility scenario.
