Nissan Motor recently reported global sales of 3,202,137 vehicles in 2025, down 4.4% year-over-year. Domestic sales in Japan plummeted by more than 15%, while overseas markets saw a modest decline of 2.6%. Sales in China totaled 653,024 units, down 6.3%; European sales fell 7.2% to 329,557 units; meanwhile, the North American market bucked the trend with a 2.2% increase, reaching 1.313 million units, driven by year-over-year growth in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Global sales in December alone amounted to 272,782 vehicles, a 6.7% decrease compared to the same month last year. On the production side, Nissan’s global output in 2025 totaled 2.95 million vehicles, down 5.7% year-over-year, with domestic production in Japan declining sharply by 14%. In terms of exports, Nissan shipped 329,000 vehicles from Japan, a steep 17% drop year-over-year, including declines of nearly 29% in exports to North America and over 36% to Europe.
