On February 2, the Quanzhou Municipal People's Government signed a cooperation agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) for a new energy battery production base project. Both parties will collaborate in the field of new energy batteries, utilizing advanced green manufacturing technologies to jointly build an intelligent, low-carbon modern factory, enhance supporting infrastructure, and promote coordinated development among upstream and downstream enterprises, thereby strengthening Quanzhou’s new energy industry cluster. On the same day, the Nan’an Municipal People's Government also signed an investment agreement with CATL, specifying that construction of the project is scheduled to officially commence in the second quarter of 2026.
