On February 2, Hu Zhengnan, Senior Advisor at Xiaomi Auto, shared winter testing photos on social media, offering the first official glimpse of a large-range extended SUV—reportedly codenamed “YU9.” The vehicle is undergoing a 700-kilometer test drive in the extreme cold between Mohe and Heihe. With an estimated length exceeding 5.2 meters, the SUV features a 6- or 7-seat configuration and is equipped with an 80 kWh battery pack, potentially delivering over 400 km of CLTC-rated all-electric range. Also spotted in the test convoy was another range-extended SUV with distinct taillight design, suggesting Xiaomi may simultaneously launch both five-seat and seven-seat variants. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to unveil the extended-wheelbase SU7L and the high-performance YU7 GT later this year, rapidly expanding its product lineup. With the Beijing Auto Show approaching, the “YU9” is expected to make its official debut soon.
