BYD achieved total sales of 4.602 million vehicles in 2025, ranking among the top five global automakers for the first time and becoming the first Chinese brand to reach this milestone—surpassing international giants such as General Motors, Ford, and Honda. Its new energy vehicle (NEV) sales have topped the global rankings for four consecutive years, with its battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales exceeding Tesla’s for the first time to claim the world’s No. 1 spot in pure-electric vehicle sales. Overseas markets emerged as a key growth driver, with annual exports surpassing 1.049 million units—a 145% year-over-year increase—securing leading positions in Hong Kong, Macao, multiple European countries, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and other regions. Powered by core technologies including Blade Battery, the fifth-generation DM hybrid system, and intelligent driving systems, along with its global manufacturing footprint and self-owned roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) shipping fleet, BYD continues to accelerate its globalization strategy.
