Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solution BU CEO Yu-Zhi Jin recently unveiled the enhanced version of Huawei ADS Pro, known as Qiankun Smart Driving. The system features Huawei's proprietary "Single-Lens Dual-Mode" LiMeRa architecture, which combines laser and vision technologies. Compared to pure vision systems and LiDARs with over 120 lines, it offers superior precision in detecting small objects at longer distances and significantly enhanced active safety capabilities. In terms of functionality, the system supports lateral collision avoidance, detection of irregularly shaped obstacles, prevention of unintended acceleration pedal activation, and driver incapacitation assistance—using audio alerts, SOS light signals, and automatic seatbelt tightening to alert and awaken the driver. It also enables automatic parking into EPA (End-of-Parking-Area) spots after the driver exits the vehicle. On highways, the Navigation-guided Cruise Assist (NCA) achieves an average hands-off driving distance exceeding 1,500 kilometers. Urban NCA functionality will begin rolling out gradually starting in Q1 of this year. It is reported that more than 20 new vehicle models across sedans, SUVs, and off-road vehicles will be equipped with this system in 2024. Additionally, urban NCA is planned to be introduced to vehicles priced around RMB 150,000 starting next year.
