According to data released Thursday by market research firm JATO Dynamics, Volkswagen surpassed Tesla for the first time in 2025 to become Europe's top-selling electric vehicle (EV) brand, with 274,278 all-electric vehicles sold. During the same period, Tesla sold 236,357 all-electric vehicles in Europe. This shift marks a significant achievement in Volkswagen’s accelerated transition to electrification and reflects growing European consumer acceptance of locally produced EV models.
