In response to recent rumors suggesting that its all-new electric sports car, the Concept C, might be canceled, Audi has officially denied the claims. Spokesperson Daniel Schuster called the reports "pure speculation" and emphasized that the vehicle remains on track for production by the end of 2025. The Concept C is a fully electric two-seater sports car featuring an electrically operated Targa roof, with no plans for a combustion-engine or fixed-roof variant. The model is expected to share Volkswagen Group’s EV platform with the Porsche electric 718 (Boxster/Cayman EV) to reduce costs. However, if Porsche abandons the project due to high development expenses, Audi could either shoulder the substantial costs alone to move forward or risk putting the project on hold. Despite these uncertainties, industry observers widely view the Concept C as crucial to Audi’s brand image and anticipate it becoming the next iconic model following the TT and R8.
