Zhejiang Geely Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has announced a recall of 14,768 domestically produced all-wheel-drive XC70 vehicles manufactured between May 7 and December 22, 2025. The recall is due to a compatibility deviation in the left rear half-shaft, which, under extreme conditions, could cause it to become dislodged from the rear drive motor, posing a safety hazard. The company will arrange for authorized Volvo dealers to inspect the affected vehicles free of charge: if a deviation is found in the half-shaft, it will be replaced with a new one; for other vehicles, an improved half-shaft retaining ring will be installed, and the lubricating oil inside the rear drive motor will be cleaned and reapplied to fully eliminate the risk.
