BYD's new all-electric D-segment flagship SUV, the "Tang," has recently appeared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) vehicle announcement catalog. The vehicle features a seven-seat layout and measures either 5,263 mm or 5,302 mm in length (the latter with optional rear bumper trim), with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. Its height varies between 1,790 mm and 1,800 mm depending on whether it is equipped with air suspension. Powering the SUV is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, paired with one of three available electric motor configurations, delivering a peak output of up to 370 kW and a top speed of 250 km/h. Curb weight ranges from 2,640 kg to 2,970 kg, and it comes with multiple tire size options. The approach and departure angles are 18° and 19°, respectively. Standard equipment includes a panoramic glass roof, while optional extras include black or silver exterior styling packages, a rear spoiler, and various wheel designs. Positioned as a premium offering for both family and business multi-purpose use, the Tang underscores BYD’s flagship capabilities in the all-electric SUV segment.
