On February 6, Geely-affiliated companies and battery manufacturer Sunwoda (300207.SZ) reached a settlement regarding a prior lawsuit. The original claim amounted to RMB 2.314 billion; after negotiations, Sunwoda will ultimately pay RMB 608 million, significantly easing its financial pressure. Sunwoda is a leading domestic battery supplier, with its subsidiary Sunwoda EV Battery Co., Ltd. specializing in traction batteries. According to data from the China Automotive Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, Sunwoda ranked sixth nationwide in traction battery installations in 2025, with a market share of 3.17%. This settlement not only alleviates Sunwoda's burden but also opens the door for future collaboration between the two parties.
