The Leapmotor Lafa5 Ultra recently appeared in the MIIT’s vehicle application catalog and is expected to launch in Q2 2026. Positioned as a sporty coupe, the new model features an exclusive exterior package, including a front lip spoiler, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a roof-mounted rear wing. It also adopts matte gunmetal-gray badges and wheel center caps, a lower ride height, and matte dark gray brake calipers, enhancing its aggressive, low-slung stance. Powering the vehicle is a rear-mounted electric motor producing 180 kW (compared to 160 kW in the standard version), with a rear-wheel-drive layout. Standard intelligent features include a LiDAR sensor, and it may be equipped with a chip combination of SA8295 and SA8650. Leapmotor currently offers four series—A, B, C, and D—with both battery-electric and range-extended powertrain options. Following the establishment of its joint venture with Stellantis in 2024, the company has accelerated its global expansion. As of January 2026, Leapmotor operates over 1,850 outlets worldwide and has surpassed 1.2 million cumulative vehicle deliveries.
