On February 9, Li Bin, founder of NIO, announced that the company plans to build 1,000 new battery swap stations by 2026 and expand its "Power Swap Scenic Routes" to 100 corridors. Following last year’s completion of the G318 Sichuan-Tibet and Yunnan-Tibet swap routes, NIO will launch a Silk Road battery swap corridor this year. The company will roll out its fifth-generation battery swap stations at scale, offering convenient swapping services to users of the Firefly model. On February 6, NIO achieved its 100-millionth battery swap—reaching this milestone in just 2,819 days. The company has invested over RMB 18 billion cumulatively and holds more than 2,100 related patents. Currently, NIO’s daily swap volume exceeds 100,000 transactions, solidifying battery swapping as a mainstream energy replenishment method. The 100-millionth swap was completed by Mr. Ma, a NIO owner from Hangzhou, at a station in Haining, earning him a reward of 100,000 NIO points.
