On February 5, Infineon launched the new EiceDRIVER™ 1ED301xMC12I series of isolated gate driver ICs, specifically designed for next-generation silicon carbide (SiC) applications. Featuring an integrated optocoupler-emulator input that is pin-compatible with existing optocouplers, the device offers high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), a robust output stage, and more precise timing control—enabling engineers to seamlessly transition to SiC technology without modifying their existing optocoupler-based control architectures. This series is ideal for demanding applications requiring high performance and reliability, including motor drives, solar inverters, electric vehicle chargers, and energy storage systems.
