Cathie Wood, founder of ARK Invest, recently made a notable move: her firm’s space-themed ETF purchased Tesla shares for the first time. Market analysts suggest this could signal a bet on the potential future merger between Tesla and SpaceX, positioning the fund ahead of related opportunities. Although Tesla is best known for its electric vehicles, the company is accelerating development of its Optimus humanoid robot project and has long-term ambitions that even include contributing to extraterrestrial civilization—a vision that may explain its inclusion in a space-themed ETF. Wood has previously stated publicly that given Tesla’s grand vision spanning electric vehicles, AI, robotics, and space, the company could eventually reach a $100 trillion market valuation.
