Mercedes-Benz plans to launch an all-new entry-level model in 2028 to fill the market gap left by the discontinuation of the A-Class and B-Class. The new vehicle will be built on the Modular Mercedes Architecture (MMA) platform, sharing its technical foundation with the 2026 CLA and GLB, and will feature a distinctive design blending SUV and MPV elements. Aimed at budget-conscious consumers who still favor the Mercedes-Benz brand, the model is expected to be offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The all-electric version may come with either a single-motor rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, while the plug-in hybrid variant will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, featuring front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option. Given its positioning, an AMG high-performance version is unlikely. Upon its launch, it will become the fifth member of Mercedes-Benz’s compact vehicle family.
