Chrysler (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. has recently filed a recall plan with China's State Administration for Market Regulation. Effective immediately, the company is recalling 22,003 imported Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured between January 22, 2018, and June 30, 2021. The recall is due to an incorrect software version installed in the instrument cluster during production, which prevents the engine malfunction indicator light from illuminating properly. This issue renders the vehicles non-compliant with China’s motor vehicle emission standards and on-board diagnostic system requirements, posing an unreasonable risk of excessive emissions. Chrysler will provide affected vehicles with a free software upgrade for the instrument cluster to eliminate this safety hazard.
