Recently, spy photos of the production version of the Mercedes-AMG GT all-electric SUV have surfaced. Positioned as a high-performance electric SUV, the vehicle is expected to officially launch in 2027. Its standout feature is a trio of transverse-flux electric motors developed by UK-based YASA, delivering a combined peak output of 1,000 kW (approximately 1,360 horsepower). Each motor weighs just 12.7 kg, achieving an exceptional power density of 59 kW/kg. In terms of range, the SUV offers up to 460 km and supports ultra-fast charging—adding 400 km of range in just five minutes. Although it ditches the V8 engine, AMG has developed a bespoke V8 sound simulation system for an authentic auditory experience. Styling remains performance-oriented, with a wide, low-slung stance, a long hood, and signature AMG headlights at the front. The rear features distinctive circular taillights incorporating the three-pointed star emblem, ensuring high recognizability. The new model will directly compete against luxury high-performance electric SUVs such as the electric Porsche Cayenne and BMW XM.
