On February 18 (the second day of the Chinese Lunar New Year), NIO set a new single-day record with 158,290 battery swaps. The three busiest battery swap stations that day were all located in highway service areas—in Fuzhou and Sanming, Fujian Province, and Yingtan, Jiangxi Province—with the busiest station completing 166 swaps. Earlier, on February 6, NIO surpassed 100 million cumulative battery swaps, marking broad user and market acceptance of its battery swap model. To date, NIO has built more than 8,600 charging and swapping stations nationwide, including over 3,700 battery swap stations and more than 1,000 along highways. Its network spans nine north-south corridors, eleven east-west corridors, and 16 major urban clusters, connecting 550 cities—solidifying battery swapping as a mainstream energy replenishment method for China’s new energy vehicles.
