Mercedes-Benz will officially unveil its all-new all-electric luxury MPV, the VLE, on March 10. Built on the dedicated electric VAN.EA platform, the VLE draws design inspiration from the Vision V concept car. It features a 115 kWh battery pack and an 800V high-voltage architecture, supporting ultra-fast charging at up to 320 kW. In real-world testing, the vehicle completed the approximately 1,100-kilometer journey from Stuttgart, Germany, to Rome with just two 15-minute charging stops. The VLE is equipped with an advanced automated parking assist system and rear-wheel steering (with a maximum steering angle of 7 degrees), achieving a remarkably tight turning circle of just 10.9 meters—offering agility comparable to that of the CLA sedan. It also includes a reversing assistant that can automatically retrace the vehicle’s path out of tight spots. Powertrain options include a single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version. Pricing starts at around £90,000 (approximately RMB 840,000). A combustion-engine version is also planned for future release and will be produced on the same production line. Additionally, a larger flagship model, the VLS, is set to follow.
