Tesla recently quietly introduced an "Autopilot Statistics" feature in version 4.54.0 of its mobile app. Although the feature is not yet activated, its existence has been confirmed through reverse engineering. The feature syncs FSD (Supervised) driving data from the vehicle’s touchscreen display to the user’s smartphone, visually presenting the total mileage driven in Autopilot mode along with its percentage of overall driving distance, accompanied by a custom-rendered image of the user’s vehicle. The update also includes a one-tap share button, enabling users to easily generate and post polished graphics to social media. Notably, these statistics are tracked per vehicle—if multiple users share the same car, their FSD mileage will be aggregated, and there is currently no option to manually reset the data. Industry observers view this move as a low-cost marketing strategy by Tesla to encourage word-of-mouth promotion and demonstrate FSD’s reliability to potential customers.
