On February 21, 2026 (the fifth day of the Lunar New Year), NIO achieved a record-breaking 175,976 battery swaps in a single day—averaging one swap every less than 0.5 seconds—setting a new all-time high. This marked the fourth consecutive day of record-breaking performance since the start of the Lunar New Year holiday, following 166,000 swaps on the third day and 170,000 on the fourth day. The three busiest highway battery swap stations that day were all located along the G15 or G42 expressways, with the busiest single station completing 193 swaps. As of February 6, NIO had surpassed 100 million cumulative battery swaps nationwide. To date, the company has built more than 8,600 charging and swapping stations across China, including over 3,700 battery swap stations and more than 1,000 highway swap stations, covering 550 cities and forming a comprehensive “9 North-South Corridors, 11 East-West Corridors, and 16 Major Metropolitan Clusters” highway battery swap network.
