National Expressway Traffic Exceeds 66 Million Vehicles Today; Return Peak Continues Until Toll-Free Period Ends

Nationwide expressway traffic volume is expected to exceed 66 million vehicle trips today, still dominated by returning travelers and remaining at a high level overall. Peak travel periods will concentrate between 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 2 p.m.–7 p.m., with temporary congestion likely on certain sections of the Fuyin, Changshen, Jingkun, and Erguang expressways. Notably, the toll-free policy for passenger vehicles with seven seats or fewer will end at 24:00 (midnight) tonight, with eligibility determined by the time a vehicle exits the toll lane at the destination interchange.
