MG Motor recently announced that it has surpassed one million cumulative vehicle sales in the European market, becoming the first Chinese automotive brand to achieve this milestone. Of these, 317,000 units were all-electric vehicles (EVs), with over 100,000 sold in the UK alone, primarily driven by models such as the MG4 EV and its Urban variant. The best-selling model overall is the MG ZS (including both gasoline and hybrid versions), with cumulative sales reaching 424,000 units. In 2025, MG has already sold more than 300,000 vehicles in Europe, marking a year-on-year increase of approximately 30%. In the first half of the year, MG outsold Tesla with 153,000 units, solidifying its position as the top-selling Chinese brand in the region. Despite facing significant headwinds—including a steep 45.3% EU tariff on electric vehicles imported from SAIC Motor, MG’s parent company—the brand continues its expansion across Europe. It is now present in 34 European countries and operates through a network of over 1,300 dealerships. The UK remains MG’s largest market, with cumulative sales of 386,000 units. The brand also plans to launch several new models and introduce technological upgrades in the first half of the year.
