Polestar has announced plans to launch four all-new models between 2026 and 2028, explicitly targeting BMW M and Mercedes-AMG as its main rivals. The lineup will kick off in 2026 with the flagship four-door coupe Polestar 5—boasting up to 884 horsepower—and a high-performance shooting brake variant of the Polestar 4. In 2027, the brand will unveil a next-generation Polestar 2 sedan, followed in 2028 by the Polestar 7, a compact luxury SUV. Polestar also plans to expand its high-performance “BST” sub-brand across the 2, 3, and 4 series, and may develop an even more extreme version of the Polestar 5 to rival Audi RS models. Despite previously relying on a $900 million loan from its parent company to navigate financial difficulties, CEO Michael Lohscheller emphasized that Polestar’s goal is not merely recovery—but to challenge German performance benchmarks with precise handling and formidable power.
