Lincoln is planning to launch a luxury off-road SUV based on the current Ford Bronco, targeting the rapidly growing premium off-roader segment. According to Autoweek, the new vehicle will retain the Bronco’s body-on-frame platform while incorporating Lincoln’s signature design language, drawing styling cues from the latest Navigator. The exterior will maintain the Bronco’s rugged silhouette but feature more refined and softer detailing. In terms of dimensions, the new SUV is expected to approach the four-door Land Rover Defender (197.5 inches), slightly larger than the current four-door Bronco (189.4 inches). Powertrain options will likely include the Bronco’s existing 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder or 2.7L turbocharged V6 engines, rather than the 3.0L turbo V6 found in the Bronco Raptor. Although Ford plans to introduce an all-new Bronco by 2031, the Lincoln model is expected to be developed as an upgraded version based on the current platform. If development progresses smoothly, the vehicle could debut as early as three to four years from now, positioning itself directly against luxury off-roaders like the Land Rover Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
