On February 25, CleanTechnica released its Top 20 Global New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Sales Ranking for 2025, with Chinese brands delivering an outstanding performance by claiming half of the spots. BYD topped the list with sales of 4.1938 million units—2.5 times that of Tesla, which ranked second with 1.636 million units. Other Chinese brands on the list included Geely, Wuling, Leapmotor, XPeng, AITO, Xiaomi, Li Auto, Aion, and Deepal. Notably, Xiaomi Auto made its debut in the global top ten, securing the tenth position with 412,000 units sold, emerging as the biggest dark horse. Leveraging their strengths in high cost-performance ratios and intelligent technologies, Chinese brands have transformed from industry followers into global leaders in the new energy vehicle sector, showcasing the formidable power of "Made in China" innovation.
