A new survey reveals that more than 40% of automotive industry executives worldwide fear job loss—a figure significantly higher than the cross-industry average of 28%. According to AlixPartners’ “2026 Disruption Index,” which surveyed 3,200 CEOs and senior executives across 11 countries, the automotive sector has been ranked for the second consecutive year as the industry facing the most severe disruption and transformation. Although its disruption index has slightly declined from last year’s peak to 74, weak growth, intensifying competition, and persistently high costs continue to reshape the global automotive business landscape, leaving industry executives widely anxious.
