Xiaomi Auto has recently unveiled a new paint color for its SU7 model—"Chixia Red"—inspired by the rosy hues of dawn. The aim was to create a truly authentic red that blends cultural depth with premium sophistication. During user research, the design team discovered that consumers were seeking a classic, quintessential red rooted in Chinese aesthetic traditions. To achieve this, the new paint uses a high-purity red base, infused with 20-micron red aluminum flakes and high-chroma red pearl pigments. Precisely arranged metallic flakes produce a "flip-flop" effect—shifting between light gold and orange-red tones from different angles—to create a dynamic, three-dimensional visual experience. Combined with a high-thixotropy resin system, the finish delivers rich, vibrant color with exceptional depth, balancing both luxury and sportiness. Xiaomi stated that "Chixia Red" marks a significant starting point in its "Chinese Colors" initiative, and the company will continue to explore and develop traditional cultural color palettes in the future.
