During his recent visit to China, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz test-drove the all-new S-Class sedan at Mercedes-Benz's China headquarters in Beijing and experienced its urban and highway navigation-assisted driving system. Developed jointly by Mercedes-Benz and Chinese tech company Momenta, the system was praised by Merz as a “stunning fusion of German engineering and Chinese technology.” Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group, stated that the company will continue deepening collaboration with China’s tech ecosystem to accelerate innovation implementation. The new S-Class features comprehensive design upgrades, including a 20% larger illuminated grille, the debut of an illuminated upright star emblem, and next-generation micro-LED digital headlights. Its premium rear-seat entertainment system was also led by Chinese teams, focusing on cutting-edge digital domains such as intelligent connectivity, autonomous driving, hardware-software integration, and big data.
