On February 23, Silicon Valley-based autonomous driving startup Tensor announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Arm. Its first Level 4 autonomous passenger vehicle, the Robocar, will fully leverage Arm’s computing platform to handle all onboard AI workloads. The vehicle features an exceptionally rich sensor suite, including 37 cameras, 5 LiDAR units, 11 radars, and various environmental and safety monitoring devices, and supports high-speed connectivity via triple-channel 5G. To power this extensive electronic system, the Robocar integrates a total of 433 Arm cores across multiple IP families—including Neoverse AE, Cortex-X, Cortex-A, Cortex-R, and Cortex-M—making it the consumer vehicle with the highest level of Arm technology integration to date. The model is scheduled for launch in the U.S., European Union, and Middle Eastern markets in 2026.
