During a live broadcast on the evening of February 27, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and his team provided a detailed explanation of the safety design features of the Xiaomi SU7, specifically reminding users to always fasten their seat belts upon entering the vehicle—especially passengers in the second row. He noted that the new SU7 has increased the number of airbags from seven to nine to enhance rear-seat protection, but emphasized that "not wearing a seat belt significantly reduces the effectiveness of airbags." According to IT Home, seat belts form the foundation of passive safety systems, serving to restrain occupants and absorb impact forces; airbags are merely supplementary devices. Without a seat belt, the force of an airbag deploying during a collision could actually cause serious injury. Lei Jun urged the public to take this basic yet critical safety habit seriously.
