On February 27, Lei Jun visited Xiaomi’s automobile factory during his first livestream session after the Chinese New Year, emphasizing that Xiaomi vehicles are built with “10 times the investment” to ensure genuine safety. Over the past five years, Xiaomi has poured substantial resources into every detail to guarantee vehicle safety performance. This year, Xiaomi will reestablish its Safety Advisory Committee, inviting experts from universities, research institutes, and national-level accident investigation fields to conduct multidimensional safety evaluations. Additionally, Xiaomi will set up a public safety communication mechanism to hold regular dialogues with car owners, media, and experts, with the inaugural event expected in the first half of this year. Xiaomi also proposes establishing an Automotive Safety Alliance under the leadership of a national association to promote industry-wide sharing of safety technologies and collaborative solutions to safety challenges, thereby helping elevate China’s automotive safety standards across the board.
