Automakers and Suppliers Accelerate Push into Electrification and Smart Mobility

On February 27, NIO announced that cumulative deliveries of its all-new ES8 SUV have surpassed 70,000 units, achieving a "10,000-unit milestone" within the past month alone. Meanwhile, the Denza Z9 GT set a new global record with a pure electric range of 1,036 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz China deepened its strategic partnership with Momenta, while Bosch signed an agreement with NIO covering core intelligent electric technologies across three of NIO’s brands. CATL and BMW Group signed a collaboration agreement to pilot a battery passport initiative and jointly reduce carbon footprints. Hyundai Motor Group revealed plans to invest KRW 9 trillion in Saemangeum, South Korea, to develop AI, hydrogen energy, and robotics. Additionally, data from China’s National Energy Administration shows that as of the end of January 2026, the country had over 20.69 million public charging points—a 49.6% year-over-year increase. Audi China also announced a new management appointment: Daniel Weissland will assume the role of General Manager of FAW Audi Sales Company starting April 2026.
